There’s only one player in the history of Louisville football to record two games of 200 yards or more receiving. That player is Harry Douglas, who did so in back-to-back games against Syracuse and Kentucky in 2007.
Douglas, a 6-foot receiver and punt return specialist from Tampa, Florida was a dynamic weapon for Louisville quarterbacks from Stefan LeFors to Brian Brohm.
After a redshirt year in 2003, Douglas had a mild second year with the Cards but capped it off with a 65-yard touchdown run on a reverse in Louisville’s massive Liberty Bowl victory over Boise State.
His final play of the 2004 season may have been a premonition for things to come down the line. His career would blossom in 2005 and then skyrocket in 2006 and 2007.
Douglas became Louisville’s second all-time leading receiver with 2,924 yards and his 15 receiving touchdowns are tied for ninth all time. He was honored as a First-Team All-Big East player in his final two seasons and received a nod as an All-American in 2007.
Douglas was selected in the third round of the 2008 NFL Draft. He went on to have a highly successful professional career, tallying 310 receptions for 3,759 yards over eight seasons with the Atlanta Falcons and the Tennessee Titans.
