Louisville football saw marked improvement across the board in its season opener against Notre Dame. However, there are five guys that are most important in game two vs. Eastern Kentucky.

Coming off of an impressive showing against college football playoff contender Notre Dame, Louisville football is looking to take the next step by winning their first game in nearly a full calendar year.

“The only thing we talk about is us. That hasn’t really changed and won’t ever change,” Scott Satterfield said previewing this weeks game. “I told them that before the game Friday, I don’t care who we’re playing – Notre Dame this week or EKU next week it doesn’t matter, it’s all about us. It’s how we prepare every day, it’s how you get your mind right every single day to come out and perform at your highest level.”

While focusing on themselves, the Cards are perhaps more worried about getting right for a quick turnaround this week than on the opponent.

“One thing I hate is a five-day turnaround,” said Satterfield. “We had to do it at App State for five years straight getting ready for Georgia Southern. One good thing is we played at home and don’t have to travel but it’s extremely difficult.”

If the Cards are going to continue to take steps forward, they will have to see more significant contributions from a few key players.

We take a look at the big names who we want to see progress in week two.
