Louisville football will look to win their second straight on Saturday against Western Kentucky. We provide five players you should watch for.

Several guys have stood out through just two weeks of the season for Louisville football. Now that we know a little more about our team’s identity, Scott Satterfield and the Cardinals staff are going to be counting on those specific guys to carry the freight to victory.

For the first time in a long time, Louisville enters Saturday’s showdown with Western Kentucky as a favorite, in a game that should be won but as we’ve seen in the past could be challenging. The win against EKU gave us a lot to be positive about, but as an FCS team, it’s tough to tell how good your team really is moving forward.

WKU, just like UofL, has had plenty of football success throughout this decade. But also like UofL, had a very down year in 2018. The Tops started 1-9 before winning their final two games of the season, including a 20-17 loss at Cardinal Stadium, on their way to dismissing Mike Samford and hiring former offensive coordinator, Tyson Helton.

Western started this season with a very disappointing loss to Central Arkansas, blowing a 21-7 lead at home to lose 35-28. They bounced back in week two, winning outright as a nine-point underdog at Florida International this past weekend.

The Cards have more than enough talent to win this football game. Oddsmakers currently have Louisville slated as a 10 point favorite to take down WKU on Saturday on a neutral field in Nashville.

But to do so Scott Satterfield is going to need to see a few things from the following five guys.
