The Verdict

“Whatever it is, I want the guy who is going to go out there and help us win football games. Right now, Puma isn’t healthy, so we are going to go with whoever is healthiest.”

If Pass is healthy going forward

If Louisville gets a healthy Jawon Pass, he still appears to be their guy. Pass has the best grasp of the offense, is a trusted leader, and the game seems the most slowed down for him.

Pass should still have the keys to this offense and given the opportunity, could still pose the biggest threat for opposing defenses.

That’s not to say that there shouldn’t also be a healthy sprinkling of Malik Cunningham. The sophomore has proven that he is electric enough to make a game-changing play or two, even if his time on the field is limited.

If the Cards are Pass-less

If Louisville has to go without Pass at any point this season, Cunningham is still the guy. If he gets some more time to grasp the offense, Cunningham could still be a really solid starter for Louisville going forward.

In this scenario, you have to love the option of Evan Conley at the back-up position as well. Conley showed that, in an offense that will be run-first, he is more than capable of carrying out offensive play-calls and running an efficient offense while taking shots downfield when needed.
