After a 2-1 start for the Lousiville football program, we take a look at whose stock we are buying, and whose we are selling going into Saturday’s slate against Florida State.

The road isn’t getting any easier for the Louisville football program after getting out on a nice start to the 2019 campaign defeating Eastern Kentucky and Western Kentucky, and putting up a nice fight against no. 9 Notre Dame.

We’ve learned a lot about this team, the coaching staff, as well as the players. We know the identity of this team is based upon two things. Running the football, and creating havoc on defense.

So far, so good as the Cardinals currently have the 12th best rushing offense in the country, averaging 260.3 yards per game, and the 43rd best total defense. Both show the incredible improvement that the Cards have made in just eight months under Scott Satterfield, as well as the overall coaching job done by the new staff.

Heading into the first ACC matchup of the fall against Florida State, who presents quite a challenge for the up and coming Cardinals. Under Willie Taggart the Seminoles aren’t the same team we’ve been accustomed to seeing in years past in Tallahassee, honestly looking more like the Louisville team we saw last year than anything.

This season they’ve given up two sizable leads, falling to Boise State in the season opener and Virginia last week. While nearly giving away a game to FCS program UL-Monroe in week two. While the program may not be the FSU we’re used to seeing, a win for Louisville would be huge. A statement win at that.

With the magic number being six for Louisville this season, every game is needed, and a win against Florida State would without question put the Cards in a position for exceeding expectations on the season.

Against Notre Dame, EKU, and Western Kentucky, several parts of the Louisville football program have stood out, much like what I’ve noted above. There have been new players emerge as playmakers for the Cardinals and guys who haven’t quite been what we thought. The scheme has been refreshing, especially running the football, but we’ve also seen the team struggle at times in the passing game.

However, the stock for Louisville is on the rise and with a win Saturday the program could be one worth buying for the remainder of the season. With FSU just a few days away, we provide our best investment opportunities on the Louisville team, giving you the stocks you should buy now and the ones you may want to consider staying away from.
