Louisville basketball: Louisville Live live stream, time, predictions
Previewing Louisville basketball’s second annual Louisville Live! event on Friday evening.
Louisville basketball hosts its biggest fan and recruiting event ever on Friday when over a dozen recruits come to town for Louisville Live!, an immersive fan experience built to generate excitement for the coming season.
Fans will have a chance to get their first glimpse of this year’s men’s and women’s teams, including Chris Mack’s “Super Six,” plus grad transfer Fresh Kimble and Jeff Walz’s sensational freshman class and three immediate impact transfers.
There will be a lot of firsts this year, and people “in-the-know” are indicating that there will be a ton of surprises in store.
Last year’s Louisville Live! was the first event of its kind for the university, and it was a huge success, drawing a packed house after only two weeks of planning. PA Sean Moth and Mack both eluded to the fact that the event was very last-second.
This year’s event will be anything but haphazardly thrown together. The guests will be bigger, the crowd, by all indications, will be larger, and the recruiting implications should be massive.
Last year, Louisville landed priority recruit Aidan Igiehon thanks to the event, and this year is supposed to be chalked full of four and five-star recruits for the 2020 and 2021 classes.
When: Friday, September 27th; Doors open at 5:00, Event starts at 7:00
Get there early. The event is standing room only, and it will be a packed crowd. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes (and red, of course)
Where: Fourth Street Live!, 411 S 4th St, Louisville, KY 40202
Tickets: This is a FREE event, but again, it’s first-come, first-served. Don’t show up at 6:55 if you want a good view.
Special guests: TBD. We know Taylor Rooks of Bleacher Report and Turner Sports will be an emcee, and former players like Luke Hancock and Russ Smith will be in the house.
Our guesses? I think you’ll see some big names (maybe Donovan Mitchell) return and perhaps a musical guest (if we had it our way, it’d be Jack Harlow)
How to watch: Can’t make the event? No big deal. You can stream Louisville Live! on ACC Network Extra right here.
Predictions:
Men’s 3-point contest (participants: Nwora, Enoch, Williamson, McMahon): Ryan McMahon takes the crown from defending champ Jordan Nwora
Women’s 3-point contest (participants: Evans, Laemmle, Duvall, Smith): Dana Evans starts off her senior campaign the right way
Women’s skill contest: I’m going to take the trio of Elizabeth Dixon, Yacine Diop, and Seygan Robins
Men’s dunk contest (participants: Perry, Igiehon, Nickelberry, Withers): Igiehon might have the best dunks, but Darius Perry looks a lot more impressive cramming at 6’2″
H-O-R-S-E: Vince Tyra and fan @LoganMurphyIV vs. Luke Hancock and fan @LouCards82
Although Hancock is a former Final Four MOP and is known for some of the more memorable makes in school history, I have a feeling that Tyra is going to pull out all the stops like a boss.
