Utilize the bye week

You only get two bye weeks in the college football season, so you have to make them count. Football is such a physical sport, even six days off sometimes isn’t enough to be feeling as good as possible going into the next game. This came at a great time for Scott Satterfield and the Louisville football program.

The quarterback situation obviously needed some time, but that Florida State game was grueling. It was hot, it was back and forth, and several injuries happened. Late in the game, it looked like possible fatigue, lack of focus and mental mistakes cost the Cardinals the ball game. They’ve now had twice the amount of time that they normally have to prepare for a winnable team, Boston College had the opposite.

They played a very tough game Saturday that could’ve gone either way from start to finish. Boston College’s bye week comes after the matchup this weekend but hasn’t happened yet. So the Golden Eagles are about to play their sixth game in as many weeks.

This is a great opportunity to come out with more energy in front of what should be a very hopeful Louisville crowd. This could be the last time the Cards find themselves as a favorite in 2019, it’s time to make it count.
