G.G. Robinson – DT

Scott Satterfield and co-defensive coordinators Bryan Brown and Cort Dennison are probably very aware of the troubles that Boston College’s running backs have given Louisville over the two seasons.

Two years ago it was AJ Dillon, the running back they’ll see a lot of on Sunday, and David Bailey who was one of two running back’s to torch Louisville’s defense for 100 plus yards last year.

Senior defensive tackle G.G. Robinson has been a contributor/starter for each of the last two seasons, and there’s no question he wants to see the Golden Eagles’ stretch of big running days continue. Luckily, a lot of that will fall squarely on his shoulders as the leader of the front three for the Cardinals.

Boston College has been one of the nation’s most productive running teams over the last few seasons with Adazzio as head coach and Dillon in the backfield. And in 2019, that’s no different.

Dillon has averaged over 125 yards per carry this season for Boston College and is currently the nation’s third total leading rusher with 627 yards on the ground and six touchdowns. It’s a huge reason why the Golden Eagles have the 14th best total offense in the entire country, despite being 3-2.

On Saturday, Robinson along with Jared Goldwire will be mainly responsible for blowing up the BC offensive line by slanting into gaps and allowing the linebackers to come up and big plays in the backfield against the powerful running attack.

If Robinson isn’t able to have success penetrating the offensive line, and the linebackers aren’t able to get into gaps for tackles in the backfield, you could see Boston College go onto to have their third straight year of incredible running success against Louisville.
