Scott Satterfield and the Louisville football program picked up their first ACC win in almost 700 days on Saturday, defeating Boston College in a shoot out. What can we take away from a big win?

Louisville football picked up an ACC win for the first time in nine tries this past Saturday. It was a long time coming and was far from easy going head-to-head with the struggling, yet explosive Boston Colleg team.

It had a little bit of everything – different quarterbacks, explosive plays in the passing and running game, the first Louisville interception, crucial fumbles, big plays given up on defense by both teams, questionable officiating, the list could go on and on.

But despite all factors, the Cardinals finally emerged victorious in conference play.

The offense had a breakout performance in the passing game that we had all been waiting for. Between Evan Conley and Micale Cunningham, the two Cardinal quarterbacks accounted for 428 yards passing between combined and a total of three touchdowns.

Louisville’s three starting receivers, Dez Fitzpatrick, Seth Dawkins, and Tutu Atwell all had games to remember – breaking records along the way.

We’ve seen Tutu Atwell’s greatness on display in 2019, but we’ve been waiting to see such from Dez Fitzpatrick and Seth Dawkins. There was no better time for it than Saturday. Each of these guys had over 100 yards receiving and the Cardinal offense in totaled 664 yards altogether.

That’s the most that Boston College has given up in the history of their football program. It’s hard to believe that the Louisville offense was capable of that, but times are changing in Louisville.

This team has already surpassed last season’s win total of two with seven games left to play. Here’s what I thought stood out about the big win against the Golden Eagles this past weekend.
