Louisville football will head on the road to face their second-ranked team of the season in Wake Forest. How can the Cards pull off their biggest win yet?

Louisville football’s biggest game of the season comes just one week after their biggest win in six weeks of 2019. This one comes against an undefeated Wake Forest team, who happens to be ranked 19th in the country.

The fact that Dave Clawson has his team ranked is a scary thing for the Cardinals historically.

Since Louisville joined the ACC, they haven’t won a game on the road against a ranked opponent. The Cardinals are 0-10 on the road against ranked opponents and 1-12 overall, with the only win coming against Florida State in 2016.

It actually goes a lot farther back than that. Since 2000, Louisville has only won on the road against a ranked opponent three times. In 2000 against Southern Miss, in 2007 against Cincinnati and in 2011 against West Virginia.

It’s hard to believe that it’s been 8 seasons since the Cardinals have had a win like the one they could possibly get Saturday. Here’s how they can get it done against the Demon Deacons.
