Louisville football: How the Cards can take down Virginia

Louisville football goes head-to-head with ACC Coastal leading Virginia on Saturday. How can the Cards pick up their fifth win of the season?

The Louisville football season has already arguably been a success. They have doubled last season’s win total, fans are back to feeling good about where this program is headed, and there are players on this Cardinal team that have you excited for college football every single week.

But things could go get so much better. Louisville now has five games left, all against beatable opponents and are just two games away from becoming bowl eligible. The thing is, all of those teams can likely beat them as well.

Louisville’s next five in order: Virginia, Miami, North Carolina State, Syracuse, and Kentucky. All of these teams have bowl chances but none of them are ranked. Which puts Louisville in a position to control their own destiny. The team that comes into Cardinal Stadium this weekend is arguably the best left on the schedule.

Virginia is the only one of the remaining Louisville opponents that have already reached five wins. They’ve beaten the likes of Florida State and Pittsburgh and are coming off a blowout victory against Duke. They were supposed to beat Duke by two or three… they won by 34.

They now enter Cardinal Stadium as a 3.5 point road favorite. Defeating a well-coached team with a strong defense won’t easy but nothing is impossible going forward. Here’s what the Cards need to do to knock off the Cavaliers:
