Don’t run from last week’s result, use it

Playing a team like Clemson is a one of one experience for teams like Louisville. Everyone else on their schedule pales in comparison to the Clemson Tigers as Dabo Swinney has arguably more NFL talent and more depth than anyone in college football.

Losing a game at home by 35 in the middle of the season is something that can sometimes cause teams to lose two or three games because of just that. It’s usually a confidence killer, but this shouldn’t be treated that way.

The Cardinals played a competitive brand of football for most of this Saturday’s tilt with the defending champs. They to an extent should be relieved to see any other team across the field from here on out.

A lot of Louisville’s offensive success this season has come because of the talent that’s out there. The receivers are first class, Javian Hawkins has been superb and the offensive line has seemingly improved week to week.

Something like what happened last week shouldn’t do anything to the morale of this Louisville football team. It needs to be looked at positively. It definitely could’ve gone better, but this season has a lot of amazing possible moments left within it.

This Virginia team may be the best team remaining on this Louisville football schedule, but they are no comparison to Clemson. Louisville needs to use last week’s positive moments as fuel and leave the negatives in the past. They’ve already done more than most expected them to do, let’s see if they can build on that.
