Louisville basketball: Preseason player power rankings
Louisville basketball enters the 2019-20 season as the No. 5 team in the country. But how do the Cards’ pieces stack up? We rank each player based on their potential impact in the month of November.
Though football season is in full swing, it’s difficult for Louisville basketball fans to contain their excitement for one of the most highly-anticipated Cardinals squads in recent years.
When Chris Mack’s second team takes the floor on November 5th against Miami, they will look and feel completely different than his squad from a year ago.
The Cards return nearly every piece from a team that overachieved, winning three games against ranked opponents, finishing near the top of the ACC, and earning a seven seed in the NCAA tournament. Add in a recruiting class that is among the best in school history, sprinkle in a graduate transfer, and the hype surrounding the pre-season ACC player of the year, and you have a Louisville basketball team poised to cut down some nets well ahead of schedule.
Going into the first month of the season, however, the Cards figure to look a bit different than anticipated. Injuries have befuddled Louisville, forcing the team to resort to getting a lot more practice and scrimmage reps for younger players.
Based on what we know, we have ranked the 2019-20 Louisville basketball team based on their impact over the first month of the season.
