Jordan Nwora lived up to the hype, and he’s going to be a star again for the Cards

Garnering preseason hype as one of the top players in the nation, junior forward Jordan Nwora delivered for the Cards in spectacular fashion last night.

He poured in 28 points and connected on five three-pointers. Specifically, Nwora connected on three consecutive three-pointers in the middle of the second half that helped the Cards take the lead for good. Nwora also made an impact outside of his scoring, dishing out five assists and grabbing five rebounds.

The ACC Preseason Player of the Year looked like a much-improved player on the defensive end as well, getting three steals and blocking two shots. He did turn it over four times, but he didn’t play really sloppy.

Nwora played 38 of 40 minutes and cramped up near the end of the game. Coach Mack said that once the Cards get healthy, he doesn’t want to rely on Jordan that much. Nwora is primed to be a 20 point per game scorer for the Cards this season, and the goal will be that he can do it with efficiency. He looks to be deserving of all the hype he’s received throughout the preseason, and the scary thought is that he’ll continue to get better as the season rolls along.
