Dwayne Sutton will be the guy who determines the ceiling of this Louisville basketball team

Dwayne Sutton was named as one of the best glue guys in America for a reason. He plays hard, does the dirty work, and is the unquestioned captain of the team. He put his talents on display against Bellarmine, and Scott Davenport self-appointed himself as the president of the Dwayne Sutton fan club in his post-game press conference.

Sutton seemed like he was everywhere on the floor for the Cards, and he displayed that nose for the ball that we saw so much last season. Many fans wondered how Sutton would look after his abysmal end to last year, and he looks like he’s gotten over that slump.

He scored 18 points on 58 percent shooting from the field, drilled all four of his free throws, and grabbed a game-high 13 rebounds, with five coming on the offensive end of the floor. Sutton looks like he got much stronger in the offseason and he’s going to use that to his advantage on the defensive end as he guards the opposing team’s best player every night out.

The local product looks ready to make a statement to the nation, and it’ll be him, not Nwora, that determines just how far this Louisville team can go.
