Louisville basketball: Final takeaways from Cards clash with Bellarmine
Bellarmine is going to be a frontrunner for the D2 national title all season long
Ranked as the 3rd best team in Division II according to the NABC Preseason Poll, Bellarmine is going to have a great shot at finishing on top in their final season at the Division II level.
Hanging with a team as talented as Louisville like they did further echoes that belief. It is clear that the players have put their trust into Coach Davenport and they are buying into his system, and Coach Davenport has the utmost confidence in every one of his guys.
This is a team that is loaded with guys who can play Division I basketball, and they didn’t fold at all on the brightest stage. For a while, it seemed like Bellarmine had an answer for every Louisville basket, and they wouldn’t back down without a fight.
This toughness is something that Coach Davenport has instilled in his program, and it is one of many reasons why this team has had so much success over the years. If you’re a Louisville fan, let’s all get together and cheer Bellarmine on as they chase their second national championship in program history!
