Kameron Wilson – OLB

Three-star outside linebacker Kameron Wilson was the second player in the class of 2020 to make a decision to play football for the Louisville program, doing so just a few months after Scott Satterfield arrived from Appalachian State.

Wilson chose Louisville over a few lower bottom five offers including Coastal Carolina and South Alabama which may not get you excited, but he was a player that the staff targeted very early on and made a priority for their defense. It was going to take Louisville time to be able to get higher-ranked guys, so landing “diamonds in the rough” was crucial – and it’s exactly what they did with Wilson.

Since committing to Louisville, Wilson has been one of the fastest rising players throughout the entire 2020 class – recently even earning a fourth star from Rivals.com. Wilson recently shut down his recruitment after listening to other schools who expressed interest and that is a huge deal for Louisville.

He’s a tackling machine who will be able to provide support right away in the run game as a tackler (we all know Louisville needs those) and should be able to provide a boost to the pass rush playing off the edge.

An offseason spent with strength and conditioning coach Mike Siragano should benefit Wilson much like it did for the freshmen who got onto the field this season as well as for “undersized” linebackers like Yasir Abdullah, Rodjay Burns, and CJ Avery who had big seasons in their season playing in Bryan Brown’s defense.

I expect the four-star linebacker to step in and play a good number of snaps for Louisville football in 2020.
