Louisville basketball: Where are the advantages & disadvantages against Kentucky?
By Alan Thomas
Best player on the floor: Advantage Louisville – Jordan Nwora
Without underappreciating the value of Kentucky’s roster as a whole, I chose to introduce Louisville’s first advantage this way because Jordan Nwora is the whole package, and there is no dispute as to whether he is the most talented basketball player entering this game.
The smooth, athletic junior out of Buffalo, NY seems to impose his will even when defenses collapse double teams on him. Nwora is no stranger to slashing into traffic, and he is not afraid to shoot a contested jumper.
With his team sitting at 11-1, Jordan is the leading scorer with 21.2 ppg, while piling on 7.5 rpg for good measure. The 6’7” forward is already in exclusive company for the John Wooden Award, given to college basketball’s best player each year.
Sure we can have a conversation about how Ashton Hagans, Immanuel Quickley, Tyrese Maxey, or Nick Richards are great players for Kentucky on another page, but we’re here to precise.
One thing that comes to mind when we mention Nwora is a crunch time situation. Who do we want to have the ball with the game on the line? Who can get us a bucket when the offense gets stagnant?
Easy decision.
