Shooting: Advantage Louisville

Let’s be real. The Cats have not had the best of luck shooting the ball, especially behind the arc.

Now I know the narrative all week long has and will continue to be this: some random Kentucky player will drop 40, and the team will shoot 60 percent from three.

Yeah, I just don’t see that this time. Louisville ranks 15th in the nation in shooting percentage at 48.5%, while Kentucky is ranked 54th, while shooting 46.4 percent

But that’s nothing.

Currently, Coach Chris Mack’s squad is slowly coming into form, shooting 37.6 percent from three-point range, which is 32nd overall. The Cats, on the other hand are chucking the rock from deep at an alarmingly low rate, ranking 324th from beyond the arc (27.8 percent). YIKES.

I’d also draw a line to the shooters that Louisville keeps in its arsenal at all times, namely Nwora, McMahon, freshman phenom Sam Williamson, and Sutton. Oh, and our bigs can stroke it too, which may give UK more fits that they bargained for when it’s all said and done.
