Darius Perry has his best game of the season

After many consider a somewhat slow start to the season, junior Darius Perry has been playing great basketball as of late. Not only does he lead the team with 4.1 APG, but he has also flourished into a leadership role this team lacked a season ago.

Against Miami, Perry showcased his maturity and clutch shot-making ability down the stretch late in the game. His stat line will never jump out at you, as he finished with 10 points, 2 rebounds and 3 assists; however, he will be the catalyst and spark Louisville may need come March.

“I felt like it was my responsibility to try and pick us up defensively and then run offensively and get the best shot for my team every time,” Perry said after the win vs Miami. “That’s what I tried to do down the stretch and I think it worked well.”

I expect Darius to have his best game of the season thus far against the Irish, playing a big role in the Cards coming home with a W and getting this thing back on track. “Our team is playing well in spurts, but the lack of consistency is frustrating. Good teams don’t take their foot off the gas,” Mack said.

Perry could be the model of consistency that this Louisville team needs to step up in order to be successful this season. We’ll see if the Cards can put together a solid game-plan for 40 minutes (or more) in a tough atmosphere.
