Bold prediction: The mid-game lulls are not over

I’m as big of a believer as anyone that it’s important in games where Louisville overmatches opponents to come out, take care of business, and keep improving.

But, if we’ve learned anything from Louisville basketball this season, its that its ability to put the foot on the gas and coast to a win has been questionable at times. That’s just the script for the Cards this season. They get out to early leads, allow teams to creep back in, and then put them away just when the game was in doubt again.

One would like to think that a home game against a bottom-dwelling conference opponent would lead to a wire-to-wire blowout, but I might have to see it to believe it.

With that being said, the Cardinals could probably fall asleep mid-game and still wake up in time to win by 20 plus. And much like the crowd for a 9 PM weeknight game against a sub-.500 team, we really couldn’t blame them for feeling a little groggy.
