Louisville basketball made it ten straight wins with an impressive victory over Virginia on Saturday. Here are the three biggest takeaways for the Cardinals.

The streak is over. After nine futile attempts in a row, Louisville basketball has finally beaten Virginia.

The Wahoos didn’t make it easy. After a red hot start from deep for the Cardinals, they took a 14 point lead into halftime. However, Virginia used their outstanding defense and career nights from Kihei Clark and Tomas Woldetensae to inch closer in the second half.

The KFC Yum! Center knew the run was coming. Regardless of how poor Virginia has performed on offense in 2019-20, the Cavaliers had Louisville’s number. Even senior forward Dwayne Sutton admitted that the losing streak had been on the back of his mind.

It wasn’t until the horn sounded and Louisville was victorious that fans could breathe a sigh of relief.

As it has gone over the last month, Louisville’s win was nowhere near perfect. However, as a whole, Louisville was once again the better team on the floor and prevailed despite having their backs up against the wall.

Here are three of the biggest takeaways from the Cards’ victory of the Hoos.
