The 2020 recruiting cycle is likely complete for Louisville football, which means it’s time to look at the class of 2021.

2020’s National Signing Day is here which means that for the majority of programs around the country, they’ll put the finishing touches on their recruiting classes. For Scott Satterfield and the Louisville football program, 98 percent of their work was completed when they signed 25 members to their roster back in December in the class of 2020.

While other programs are scrambling to sign players to fill out their roster, Louisville has been able to get a huge running start on the class of 2021. If you follow the coaching staff and football program on Twitter you’ve probably seen pictures of them out on the road with high school coaches and parents of potential recruits as they try to identify the next wave of talent for the future in the Ville.

Louisville’s surprising success on the field in 2019 help to set the foundation for recruiting in 2020 as the Cards brought in a ton of talented players who should be instrumental in taking the program to the next level. Now Satterfield and the staff will be tasked with taking it up a notch and pursuing a new level of talent for their future rosters.

Landing a four or five-star talent is key in my opinion as they have yet to do it. Yes, they landed Kam Wilson and Luke Kandra, two guys who developed into four-star prospects. But it’s one thing to recruit an underrated player who rises from start to finish, versus recruiting a highly-ranked and highly coveted prospect. That’s why landing some of these players below is going to be so important for Scott Satterfield and the future of Lousiville football.

Don’t get it twisted, this staff is more than capable of pulling off big recruiting wins and with their success both on the recruiting trail and on the field, that’s bound to happen sooner rather than later.

So without further ado, let’s take our first look here at Big Red Louie at the top five prospects to watch in the class of 2021 for the Cards.
