Louisville basketball concluded its 2019-20 regular season on Saturday, which means it’s time to have an honest, uncomfortable discussion about this year’s squad.

It’s over. Just like that, a four-month Louisville basketball season ends. 31 regular-season games are finished, and it’s time to turn our attention to the postseason.

One could say that this is a March filled with apprehension. There’s a sense of nervousness in the air. And I get it. Louisville has never been about regular-season success. Instead, what all teams have measured by has been their ability to win when it counts – specifically in March.

Louisville’s goals and aspirations feel so close to being within reach, yet so far away- particularly after the way Louisville lost its final game of the regular season and the fashion in which it dropped four out of its last seven games.

But, now that the regular season is in the rearview mirror, we need to put things into perspective just a little bit.

There are some uncomfortable topics on my mind, but I think they are things that need to be said.

Let’s get uncomfy.
