Louisville basketball loses a ton heading into the offseason, but the good news is that there is a ton for Cards fans to like.

Entering the 2020-21 season, this feels like an offseason period with more questions than any we have seen before for Louisville basketball.

The Cardinals have already lost seven players to graduation or transfer, including six that started a game last season including Jordan Nwora, Steven Enoch, Fresh Kimble, Ryan McMahon, Dwayne Sutton, and Darius Perry, the lone transfer. That means that there will be a ton of minutes up for grabs as head coach Chris Mack’s program begins to take the mold of a squad tailormade for his system.

While there’s still a ton of offseason to go (the tournament would’ve started yesterday), Louisville is fairly confident in who they will return to the roster for Chris Mack’s third season as head coach.

Louisville will bring back the “Super Six” rising sophomore class from a year ago, including Samuell Williamson and David Johnson, a rising senior and returning captain in Malik Williams, and then bring in a slew of young, talented faces to help fill in the gaps.

Much will hinge on the next few months. How will the current state of the country effect recruiting, NBA draft statuses, and transfer decisions? Who else will join the Louisville team? What fast food restaurant will Chris Mack eat at first after quarantine is over?

We take a look at all of that and more with the three most intriguing storylines for Louisville basketball this offseason.
