Louisville basketball’s top 10 plays of 2019-20
4. David Johnson steal, behind the back dribble, and impossible lay-in
From the things that make you say “perhaps David Johnson is good at the basketballs” department, we bring you one of the best David Johnson moments of the season.
Louisville came out flatter than
3. Ryan McMahon’s step-back “onions!” moment against NC State
Did you know Dicky V knows this guy personally? Unreal.
Maybe the most overlooked win of the season was Louisville’s victory at North Carolina State.
This was the weirdest game ever, where, in most situations, you’d probably see a team cave and allow the home crowd to get to them.
There were fouls all over the place, technicals were flying, Louisville’s double-digit lead vanished twice on possessions where State scored multiple baskets. It was a wild one, but McMahon was an absolute X-factor.
This step-back three was one of seven for the senior on a night he will not soon forget.
2. Jordan Nwora sets the tone in game one at Miami
Game one. At Miami. We were really unsure of how to feel about this game from the jump.
Many predicted Louisville drop this weird, early conference game on the road in the season-opener.
They did not.
Jordan Nwora came into this season with all the hype in the world, and in moments like this, he delivered in a major way.
1. Malik Williams puts Durham in a body bag
The signature play that put a stamp on Louisville’s signature win of the season in the waning moments at Duke.
Williams was terrific from start to finish in this one, but this steal and look-ahead from Johnson and the emphatic flush from the big man in the open court was something to behold.
This dunk is already good enough to vie for the top spot as the play of the season, but when you factor in the magnitude of the situation, it’s an easy call to take the top spot.
