The Bridgewater connection

Bonnafon attended college at the University of Louisville, and though he came in a year afterward, he eventually took over for former Cardinals quarterback Teddy Bridgewater.

Though the two never played a down together, Bridgewater is the type of player that checked back in with his team frequently, surely giving advice to the younger players- Especially Bonnafon.

Bonnafon was recruited in part by Bridgewater and the team that was in place during his junior and senior years of high school, and he came to school to be the next man up.

The two certainly already have a connection, but that’s not the reason that they are a match made in heaven.

Bridgewater and Bonnafon have games that go perfectly hand-in-hand, and that is going to show on the field in 2020.

Bonnafon is a multifaceted back who, as a former quarterback, knows how to read coverages, when to throw blocks, and when to slip out as a receiver. That’s where he will likely be the most dangerous.

Under center, Bridgewater is a marksman. He makes quick decisions, almost to a fault, and dumps it down to the running backs and slot receivers across the middle a ton.

Bridgewater is a game manager and a true student of the game. He knows his reads, he knows where everyone on the field is at all times, and he is overly cautious when it comes to game management.

Regardless of who the back is, if you’re a PPR fantasy owner, you are loving the prospects of Bridgwater as your running back’s backfield mate.

Bonnafon is going to feast this season, regardless of how often he gets the chance or what the circumstances are. Because of his background, that’s all Bonnafon knows.

He was a receiver in high school until his senior year, he was a quarterback at Lousville for a year before being supplanted by Jackson, he succeeded at running back, he succeeded at receiver, he succeeded as a returner on special teams, he wowed as a free agent, he made the most of his chances in limited action in 2019- What is to make you think he won’t continue his growth in the league.
