Jay Scrubb – Scoring guard (Jr.)

2019-20 stats: 21.9 ppg, 6.8 rpg, 33-percent FG

Since we are operating under the assumption that Scrubb is still heading to college this fall, he is a player that would have to make the starting line-up.

On the heels of an impressive stint in the JUCO ranks, Scrubb is looking to come in and make an immediate impact as a secondary ball-handler and a go-to scorer for Louisville.

Where Scrubb fits in with the rest of this roster still remains to be seen but he is a multifaceted guard with the size and length of a wing.

If you’ve followed Louisville recruiting, you know Scrubb’s intangibles. Excellent size, great athleticism and leaping ability, and an ever-improving ability as a scoring threat.

Scrubb is beginning to become more well-rounded as a shooter and distributor, but he is coming to Louisville because he is a game-changing scoring threat.

Scrubb projects as a two in the league, and he will likely fit as a shooting guard based on what Louisville has on the roster.

With Samuell Williamson playing a lot mainly at the three and a lack of guards outside of Johnson and rising sophomore Josh Nickelberry, it will be Scrubb’s job to assume heading into the 20-21 season.

Scrubb would be a massive player to keep in the fold because he will take the pressure off of Johnson and Williamson as the likely primary scorers. His first step and leaping ability are a threat that has NBA execs salivating.
