Louisville football didn’t lose a ton from last year’s eight-win team, but several players will emerge this year in expanded roles.

Opportunities have been few and far between to talk about Louisville football with everything going on with in-season sports being cut short by COVID-19 event restrictions and the lack of overall news due to ongoing social distancing policies.

While most teams across the country have yet to get in many reps or group workouts and film study, that doesn’t mean that we can’t break down what the 2020 version of the Louisville football Cardinals will look like.

Coming off of a 2019 season where the Cardinals were riding high, Scott Satterfield and company don’t lose much in the way of talent, and bring back the majority of the stars from a season ago.

Still, as always, there are a few question marks around the field. The staff has done a wonderful job of getting the roster to round into form, so we decided to take a look at who will be the new big names to step up for the Cardinals in 2020.

Here are five players who can step into a big-time role in the absence of last year’s graduating seniors.
