It feels like an eternity before we get to see Louisville basketball take the court again, but that won’t stop us from making some way-too-early bold predictions for the 2020-21 season.

214 (ish) days. That’s how long we have until November 2020. And though we don’t know the exact date that Louisville basketball will tip off the season against Western Kentucky, we do know that 200+ days of no basketball will leave a serious void in our hearts.

As of this week, Louisville has seven players on its current roster. In 2020-21, the Cardinals will return the “Super six” rising sophomore class and rising senior, Malik Williams. That’s it.

The Cards will add true freshmen D’Andre Davis and JJ Traynor sometime this summer (pending COVID-19 safety precautions), and JUCO Jay Scrubb is signed with the Cards, but his arrival will depend on his feedback from the NBA.

That leaves at least three spots open for Louisville on the roster, and a lot of uncertainty in what the 2020-21 season could hold.

With that said, there’s a lot of room for optimism heading into this season and a ton of directions that things can go before we even get started.

Let’s take a look at 2020-21 Louisville basketball‘s way-too-early bold predictions 1.0.
