Louisville football: Five local prospects you need to know
Jordan Dingle – TE
Bowling Green, KY
One of a pair of players that Louisville is going to be all over from Bowling Green, Jordan Dingle is being targeted as the Cards’ do-it-all tight end of the future.
Dingle has an impressive list of suitors, but Ohio State, Louisville, Kentucky, and Virginia Tech are coming after him the hardest. It’s easy to see why coaches love him. Everything that Louisville fans enjoyed with tight end Marshon Ford in 2019, Dingle brings to the table.
The rising senior plays both sides of the ball, but on offense, he is often utilized as an H-back or on the line as a lead blocker. He is a brick wall- Nothing goes around or through Dingle in the blocking game, and he uses his massive frame to trample opposing defenses.
Dingle is a serious threat in the passing game. He can go verticle, run out routs, and short crossing routes effectively, and he demonstrates the ability to high point the ball and adjust or contort his body to haul in a pass.
Louisville brought in two tight ends in the last class, but its an area where the Cards are seriously lacking depth going into 2020. They could definitely stand to benefit from stockpiling tight ends, and it looks like they are trying to continue to do so.
Ohio State is a tough offer to turn down, and Dingle’s excitement when he received an offer last summer was apparent in videos posted by OSU insiders. However, if you are Dingle and looking at what Louisville did with a former walk-on in Marshon Ford last season, the Cardinals have to be a pretty savory option.
This one will be difficult to keep in-state, but the Cards should be in on Dingle until the end.
