White out vs. no. 4 Michigan – December 3, 2019

One of my personal favorite games I have ever attended, Nwora helped lead the way to a signature win at home against Michigan early in 2019.

The Yum! was rocking, the atmosphere was electric as fans were all sporting white Cardinal gear for the white out. At the time this was a top 5 matchup with Michigan coming off of one of the most impressive stretches of the entire season and Louisville’s first big test as the number one team in the country.

Nwora answered the call posting 22 points while adding 12 rebounds, one assist, one rebound, and one steal, giving him his second straight win in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge. This may not have been one of Nwora’s best games in terms of statistics, but he stepped up in big moments and helped lead the team to a key win in the season that helped propel the Cards early on.

What stuck out to me the most in this particular game, was Jordan’s effort on defense. He embraced the crowd’s energy and embraced the challenge of locking up one of the nation’s hottest teams. He did not shy away from the challenge, and helped lead the way to a top ten victory and the first big win as the nation’s top team.

Coach Mack praised his All-American candidate saying:

"“Well, I loved seeing how he rebounded the ball on both ends of the floor….Jordan is a talented guy. I thought he played on both ends of the floor. To only have one turnover and have the ball in his hands a lot. He missed some shots he normally makes but he also sealed the deal on a couple, an and one. I come to expect that.”"
