In year two of the Scott Satterfield era for Louisville football, there’s still plenty left to be proven by several stars on the offense.

After the Louisville football program had overachieved by a landslide during their first season under Scott Satterfield, there are a number of players with a lot to prove in 2020.

There were some exciting times on offense and some key players were beginning to get national attention, but this year, more will be expected from them as the Cards look to make another jump into the national conversation.

Many Louisville fans were hoping that the Cardinals would end up with Jeff Brohm during the winter of 2018, but ever since the arrival of Satterfield, attitudes have changed. That is no small part due to the job he has done with the offense.

Coach Satterfield has brought his entertaining, spread-option style offense from Appalachian State to Louisville. He spoke to the Courier Journal upon his arrival and discussed his offensive tendencies.

"“I think you got to stay ahead of the curve in this game and kind of reinvent yourself. Fundamentally, do the things that are going to keep you successful, but also keep guys off balance.”"

His offense resulted in a number of players to shine that might have taken a back seat during Bobby Petrino’s tenure. In the eight-win season, Louisville fans were excited to see coaching that highlighted the talent that was on the offensive side of the ball.

But because of the success, they found in the first year, there is a spotlight on a number of players that weren’t there last season. More is expected and several athletes are looking to have breakout seasons for the Cardinals in 2020.

Here are five players with the most to prove in 2020.
