New York Giants

Pick no.  4

Through the controversy of drug tests, weight issues, cooking intrigue (?), and whatever drama talking heads are throwing out there to muddy the waters, one thing still remains- The Giants still really need an offensive tackle, and they really like Mekhi Becton.

New York made massive waves last season when it drafted Duke quarterback Daniel Jones early in the first round of the draft and traded away superstar receiver Odell Beckham Jr.

The Giants were rife with controversy the entire year as they had to make the decision whether or not to ride out future Hall of Fame-er Eli Manning, who led the franchise to two Super Bowls, or play for the future with Jones in hopes that the front office can prove he was worthy of the No. 6 overall pick.

To worsen matters on the offensive end, reliable veteran offensive tackle Nate Solder, who won two Super Bowls with the Patriots before his stint in New York, retired in the offseason, leaving a massive question mark for the Giants on the left side.

The Giants are now in rebuild mode, and they need to move fast. Superstar running back Saquon Barkley is in his prime right now, and Jones is a commodity that needs to prove himself in a hurry. The Giants, more than anything, have to protect the faces of their franchise, and the safest bet is in taking Becton.

Barkley can continue his reign of terror on the league with Becton in the fold, and the Giants can begin to gain some traction on offense if there’s consistency across the line.

Becton is the smart pick here, but are the Giants going to do the wise thing this time around?
