Louisville football turned some heads on Friday by landing a commitment from coveted safety Bralyn Oliver.

Just as things were starting to get quiet on the recruiting front for Louisville football, the Cards have landed an instant impact player in the class of 2021.

Defensive back Bralyn Oliver pledged on Friday after a recruitment that saw the South Carolina transplant land offers from schools like Georgia, Florida, Florida State, Tennessee, North Carolina State, and Oklahoma among others.

Oliver went in-depth with Adam Friedman of Rivals.com on his commitment, and the rising senior seems to have a good head on his shoulders.

Oliver recently relocated from South Carolina to North Carolina, and he credited Charlotte native Jaire Alexander for influencing his decision at least a little. He sees himself as a potential future first-rounder like the former Louisville corner who is excelling at the next level in Green Bay.

"“When you go to Louisville, they establish a family culture,” he told Friedman.”They make you feel at home as soon as you get there, it doesn’t matter if you’re committed there or not. I am really close to a lot of coaches. I have a good relationship with the defensive staff and defensive backs coaches like coach ShaDon Brown and Bryan Brown. I talk to them on a daily basis. I talk to the whole staff too. Coach Satterfield and I talk a lot. He gives me a lot of good ideas.“Seeing Jaire going to Louisville and balling out showed how he could go there and make his own history,” said Oliver. “That’s something I want to do.”"

Oliver already has the physical tools to be a solid player in college. He is 6’2,” 195-pounds with room to grow, and one would assume he is a fit as a multifaceted safety in Bryan Brown’s defense.

Louisville football has a long way to go in regards to rebuilding its recruiting reputation, but landing a guy like Oliver seemingly in a quiet period speaks volumes.

Scott Satterfield and Brown have to be happy with continuing to land players who feel like perfect fits in their system.

Now they will set their sites on shoring up the secondary more and continuing their hot streak of landing quick, versatile linebackers and edge rushers.

Louisville football is getting faster and more physical on defense, and that’s a huge plus for the Cards going forward.
