Scott Satterfield is looking to land another impact quarterback this time in the class of 2021. Who are the Cards targeting?

Louisville football landed a commitment from three-star tight end Victor Mullen on Tuesday afternoon, placing the Cardinals at 57th in the 247Sports 2021 football recruiting team rankings. Mullen brings the class up to five commits, and the trajectory is trending upwards for head coach Scott Satterfield and company. High on the wish list, Louisville will look to bring in at least one quarterback in this recruiting cycle and the Cards are in on some big-time prospects.

Currently, there are four signal-callers on scholarship at Louisville. Of those four, Jawon Pass is the only one slated to not return (redshirt-senior). Although Micale Cunningham will be eligible to enter the 2021 NFL Draft, signs are pointing that the redshirt-junior will use all of his eligibility. Last season he completed 62.6 percent of his passes (112-for-179) for 2,065 yards and 22 touchdowns. If he can remain healthy, Cunningham should be a lock to not only start for the Cardinals, but significantly improve as well.

Sophomore Evan Conley and freshman Tee Webb round out the group, with Conley seeing significant playing time last season. He only threw 71 passes as a true freshman but willed the Cardinals to a huge win on the road against a ranked Wake Forest.

Losing four-star Chubba Purdy to Florida State on early signing day last December puts more of an emphasis on quarterback recruiting for Louisville in the 2021 class. Let’s take a look at a couple of prospects that could end up pledging their commitments to the Cards.
