These five players are must-haves for Louisville football.

Remember when there were questions about whether Scott Satterfield and the new Louisville football coaching staff would be able to recruit at a high enough level to compete at the top of the ACC?

Those questions have long evaporated as Satterfield and company have not so quietly become one of the biggest successes on the recruiting trail in 2021 landing 16 total commitments already and sitting firmly in the top 25 at no. 18 according to 247 Sports’ Team Rankings.

With nine(ish) spots remaining in the class, there are still a lot of players on the board and a lot more room for improvement, especially at the top.

According to 247 Sports player rankings, Satterfield and company landed just one four-star player in their first two classes recruiting for Louisville. In the 2021 recruiting cycle, which has just so happened to fall during the midst of a global pandemic, the Cards have thrived at a level we haven’t seen in quite some time which has included landing three (it’s technically two, but the .09 that keeps it from being official is petty) four-stars in safety Ben Perry, outside linebacker Jaraye Williams, and running back Trevion Cooley and there will likely be several more.

More commitments could be on the horizon for Louisville in a class that is already trending towards being the best in program history. If any of those commitments come from the players included in the first part of our “must-have” series than hitting that milestone will be much easier.

Without further ado, here are the five players who make up our “must-have” list of recruits from the class of 2021 on the offensive side of the ball.
