Louisville football stays hot on recruiting trail.

After receiving four commits in two days last week and picking up a surprise commitment from Demetrius Cannon, Louisville football is on the board once again.

This time, the Cardinals have landed a commitment in the form of Georgia outside linebacker Jackson Hamilton.

The 6’1,” 205-pound Hamilton is a native of Roswell, Georgia and is Louisville’s first linebacker commit of the class.

Hamilton chose the Cards over a group that included Kentucky, Florida State, Illinois, Georgia Tech, and Boston College.

Hamilton is a multi-purpose athlete in high school, playing a lot at running back on the offensive side of the ball.

What Jackson Hamilton brings to Louisville football

His tape reminds me a little of current Louisville running back Aidan Robbins, who played both ways in high school as well.

Hamilton is a natural fit at the outside linebacker position. He is athletically gifted, and uses excellent technique in all facets of the game. He assesses plays and reacts quickly, showing great football instincts.

He gets into his backpedal and stays with opposing receivers coming across the middle and does a great job of playing the ball- Something this coaching staff will love.

Hamilton also shows great form tackling and does a great job wrapping guys up and finishing plays.

As someone who can cover the pass and run equally well, Hamilton could fit in a few areas on this Louisville defense dependent on how much more he grows before arriving on campus.

Regardless of where Hamilton ends up playing on the field, the staff has landed yet another great fit for their system.

Hamilton will be able to come in and be a true contributor within his first two years on campus, and he projects to be at a good playing weight from day one in college.

The Louisville recruiting class is full of great pieces, many of which can develop into future stars for the Cards.
