Things have been as optimistic as you could expect the last month or two when it comes to the chances of the 2020 college football talking place, but in recent days and weeks things have turned south. Following multiple schools having to cancel workouts and conferences like the ACC seeing the surging case numbers country-wide and deciding to only play conference games, there are more reasons to think a season may not happen. While everyone needs the season there are a few for the Louisville football program who need it most.

The next several weeks are going to be crucial when it comes to determining if any sort of season will take place across all fall sports, and there are reasons to be optimistic, like Louisville FC hosting a live sporting event with fans over the weekend.

The Louisville football staff and players have all talked about how they are staying ready and operating in the mindset that some sort of season will happen, but you’d have to imagine that everyone sees the writing on the wall.

If the season were to be cancelled or moved to the spring it would cause an incredible amount of effects across the sport, including players having to make decisions on whether to play (should they be confident in their NFL stock), others deciding to sit for health reasons, and the eligibility concerns for players who are upperclassmen and may be in their last go round.
