Harrison Ingram – Forward

Even in the midst of an ongoing battle with the NCAA, Chris Mack and the Louisville basketball staff find themselves in the thick of multiple recruiting battles for five-star players. None more important than Harrison Ingram.

The consensus five-star recruit hailing from Dallas, Texas has been one of the top priorities for the Louisville staff and they’ve done a great job of positioning themselves whenever a commitment happens. Recently making Ingram’s top 10, many believe that he seems to be seriously considering Louisville along with the likes of Texas Tech, Stanford amongst others.

What makes Ingram so intriguing? He’s a bonafide one-and-done player and would easily be the best recruit Mack has landed during his time in the Ville while also being one of the highest ranked in program history.

Should he commit to Louisville he’s a player that has the ability to be a star right away thanks to his scoring punch, athleticism, and lockdown defensive capabilities. In his junior season, Ingram was a walking triple-double, averaging 20 points, 13 rebounds, and seven assists leading St. Mark to a 29-4 record.

Eric Bossi recently wrote about Louisville’s chances, saying:

"“Chris Mack and his staff have gone out and dominated the early workings of their 2021 class with three commitments, and another that will sit out this year and see his eligibility start in the fall of 2021. In the meantime, Louisville is pushing for its next commitment being its most talented yet. The Cardinals might be worthy of the dark horse label among the finalists as Ingram wants to go somewhere that he can compete for a league title, if not more. That objective that is consistently within grasp at Louisville.”"

Chris Mack talked about how they are navigating the recruiting trail with the NCAA issues ongoing, mentioning “non-negotiables” or things that won’t change no matter what the punishment might be for Louisville, including playing in a world-class arena, playing in front of 20,000 rockus fans on any given night, and getting to benefit from the national exposure of playing in the ACC with nationally televised games on nearly nightly.

Ingram likely ends up at Stanford, Purdue, or Texas Tech but don’t doubt Mack’s ability to woe him down the stretch, should he not commit during the early signing period, especially if Samuell Williamson blows up like we all expect.
