Kameron Wilson – OLB

Wilson finished as the top-rated recruit of the 2020 class (excluding JUCO players) according to Rivals.com; the four-star outside linebacker was a highly sought after recruit, choosing Louisville over the likes of Maryland, Oklahoma, Wake Forest, and Virginia Tech.

For a defense that needs assistance stopping the run and rushing the passer, Wilson will be able to contribute immediately. The 6-foot-2, 220-pound native of Jonesboro, GA is an explosive defender with a knack for causing fumbles and making plays. Defensive coordinator Bryan Brown has expressed his desire to bring in play makers, and Wilson fits the bill.

The main obstacle for Wilson competing for a starting position is the competition itself. Yasir Abdullah, Nick Okeke, and others will also be in contention for the open spots. Abdullah is one of the many players who could be in line to have breakout seasons, and if that’s the case it’s going to be difficult for Wilson to win that battle. However, at the end of the day, Wilson has a college-ready frame coupled with hard hitting and explosive burst. It is very possible that we see him in a starting role by the end of the season.
