Louisville football head coach Scott Satterfield didn’t mince words on Monday. Three takeaways from his presser.

  • Louisville football held its sixth fall practice on Monday as rumors continued to circulate about the Big Ten and other conferences cancelling fall sports
  • Instead of previously scheduled media sessions with Frank Ponce and Micale Cunningham, Scott Satterfield met with the media
  • Satterfield voiced great displeasure with NCAA and conference leadership

Anyone who viewed Louisville football Coach Scott Satterfield as a mild and tame man off the field got a rude awakening at midday on Monday, as he addressed local media members about his team’s desires to play this football season out.

The press conference came on the heels of the MAC, PAC 12, and Big Ten conferences all reportedly decided to cancel or postpone their college football schedules. The ACC, while not having ruled on their plans this season, got a quipped vote of confidence from Satterfield.

“From what we understand, the ACC is moving forward with everything,” he told reporters.

Beginning the night before, his players took to Twitter, joining a trending movement with the #WeWantToPlay hashtag attached to tweets, pleading for the powers-that-be to rule in favor of planning out a season.

Louisville’s schedule had just been finalized on paper, leaving many to assume they’d gotten a fair shake of the deal. Clemson and Kentucky were left off of the schedule, and the masses were beginning to whisper of a possible ACC Title game appearance.

What we heard in the presser was a frustrated coach, who is staring down the barrel of having the momentum of a prolific season snatched right out from under him. For those in attendance for the Zoom call or listening on the radio, this was Scott Satterfield in epic proportion.

In short, the man was furious. Here I examine the three best takeaways from the approximately 20 min presser.
