Louisville football wants to play- Badly
“We had players crying This morning in our meetings. They’re crying because they want to play,” Satterfield said.
One thing I can say about Satterfield’s remarks today in the press conference, he is about his players. I think the fanbase got a stark glimpse at one range of emotion displayed by the Louisville coach. A range that we may never see again.
Sunday night, with many of his players taking to social media over their wishes to participate in this year’s season, Satterfield jumped right behind them with full and unconditional support.
“They want to play,” Satterfield said.
Other than the general statements, Satterfield shed light on what it’s like for him, his staff, and probably many other coaches across the nation during this time of bleak uncertainty.
“We are dealing with this on a daily basis, and we have to tell this senior that, ‘I don’t know’…he’s crying because he wants to play his senior year of football,” he said.
His comments were pointed; In a way that made the Louisville football fans stand still, pay attention, and listen. As a safety advocate when it comes to the coronavirus and it’s potential casualties, I must say i was swayed by the coach’s words today.
Sometimes, in some age groups, you just have to allow them to continue life. We have to remember, the college football eligibility lifespan is a short affair.
