Grizzlies center Gorgui Dieng returns to roation at crucial time.

Gorgui Dieng’s career has taken virtually the same trajectory since he was drafted into the NBA in 2013.

The former Minnesota Timberwolf and current Memphis Grizzly has been a consummate professional and a fan favorite wherever he goes. His career has been defined by consistency.

However, Dieng’s career has also been defined by the players ahead of him. After becoming a star for the Timberwolves, the franchise drafted Karl Anthony-Towns.

During his time in Memphis, Dieng has been behind Lithuanian star Jonas Valančiūnas and former Michigan State stud Jaren Jackson Jr.

Dieng didn’t even see time in the Grizzlies rotation for the first three games in the NBA bubble. But after Jackson went out due to injury, he was forced into action.

Once again, Dieng is not disappointing.

In five games, Dieng is averaging 7.2 points, 3.6 rebounds, and block in limited action for a squad fighting to make the playoffs.

How to see Gorgui Dieng in action

Dieng will now see time in the rotation as the Grizzlies face the Portland Trailblazers in the first-ever NBA bubble play-in game.

The winner will remain in the bubble to take on the first seeded LA Lakers in a seven game series. The loser is going packing immediately after the game.

The play-in game can be seen at 2:30 PM ET Saturday on ABC.
