Armon Bethea – Offensive guard

6’6, 310-pounds – Brooklyn, NY

Another prospect that Louisville football could turn up the heat on is Armon Beathea, an offensive guard whose stock is starting to soar amongst college football recruiting rankgs.

The Brooklyn, NY native  currently sits as a low three-star in the 247Sports Composite, but he will likely see a significant jump in the upcoming updated rankings. Bethea recently accepted an invitation to play in the All-American Bowl with a plethora of five-stars and high four-stars. The offensive guard has reported offers from Arizona State, Ole Miss, Miami (FL), Pittsburgh, Syracuse, Maryland, West Virginia, Arkansas, Georgia Tech, and others.

The 6-foot-6 Bethea runs a 5.3 40-yard dash and benches 325 lbs; his speed and quickness allow him to block effectively in the second level of the defense. He possesses elite strength, good hands, and a solid point of attack that grants him the ability to dominate opposing linemen 1-on-1, while also staying involved in protecting quarterbacks and running backs. Bethea’s size is similar to that of Louisville standout Mekhi Becton, who was drafted in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft.

Like Mugharbil, Bethea would not only increase depth, but supply a possible multi-year starter as well. He would greatly benefit from Ledford’s developmental coaching, as he already has the frame of a productive interior lineman. Bethea’s high-motor and strength would be a huge luxury for the Cardinals.
