Three possible options to fill out the 2021 Louisville football recruiting class
By Dalton Pence
Nick Vattiato – Quarterback
The other spot that Louisville football has remaining in the class of 2021 is up for grabs, and the staff will likely take their time in filling it. It’s been reaffirmed that the Cardinals are only looking to take one quarterback in this class, but this is a unique scenario.
It’s not likely, but Nick Vattiato getting the spot is far from impossible. With TJ Lewis’ versatility, Louisville may elect to snag another quarterback. The three-star from Fort Lauderdale, FL is one of the most underrated at his position; his 5-foot-11 frame and lack of exposure have created obstacles for Vattiato’s stock.

However, the alleged limitations stop there. On the field, Vattiato is a dynamic dual-threat that competes at an extremely high level. He will go toe-to-toe with the nation’s best without backing down an inch. On top of the intangibles, Vattiato can either step up or throw in the pocket, or throw on the run. He delivers deep balls with exceptional touch, coupled with notable arm strength and accuracy. Vattiato’s ability to read defenses and make the right plays bodes well for his projection at the next level.
Vattiato would be a likely redshirt candidate his first year on campus, but would be competing with Webb, Lewis, and Conley on the depth chart afterwards. If Louisville opts to bring in another quarterback in the 2021 recruiting class, he is a quality option.
