CJ Avery/Dorian Etheridge – 200 tackles

Jacob – Over

Last season CJ Avery accounted for almost half of that production on his own with 93 total tackles, while Dorian Etheridge totaled 70 tackles – giving them a combined 163. That means that they’d need another 38 tackles between the two of them to surpass that number and give me another ego boost for my over/under skills, which I probably don’t need.

Avery is the best player on the Louisville defense in my opinion and I really believe he could be in line to make a big enough jump to compete for ACC recognition. Last season we saw how he could play in that middle linebacker role and in year two I expect to see even more. Etheridge is no slouch either, and entering his fourth year as a starter he’s in line for his best season yet. These guys get the 38 tackles they need to land at 201.

Presley – Under

Dorian Etheridge has been extremely reliable throughout his career to the point that it feels the fan base takes his consistency for granted. CJ Avery has been an absolute freak from day one for the Cards. Together, they form the best tandem on the team outside of maybe Hall and Hawkins.

With that being said, I am of the thought that Louisville is deep enough at linebacker that Etheridge and Avery won’t see enough snaps to reach the 200 tackle mark.
