3 pm: 2016 @ Syracuse – “Did that just happen?”

September 9th was a weird game on the schedule. A Friday night slot in the Carrier Dome. Unfortunately for Orange fans, it turned out to be a night they’d love to forget.

Jackson exploded for an ACC-record 610 total yards (411 pass, 199 rush). He was responsible for 21 points in the first five minutes on three big plays.

But the real gem of the contest came in the second quarter with Louisville rolling, up 28-7.

Jackson ran around the left side, and just before turning up field, he was approached by a fast-closing defender. With a split-second decision, he shuffled his cleats as if to put the defender on skates with a juke move.

In this instant, the defender lowered his head ever so slightly as if to go in for the tackle, leaving Jackson nowhere to go but up…so he did. He literally jumped over a man. The Cuse attendees, the commentators, and all of us watching at home couldn’t believe our eyes. It was truly a special moment in sports. The Cards routed the Orange that night 62-28.
