Breaking down Louisville football’s week one opponent.

It may be hard to believe, but we somehow have found ourselves exactly 14 days away from the kickoff of the 2020 Louisville football season. The fact that a season is even set to begin is almost a miracle within self considering all that has taken place across college football the last three to four months.

Although everyone involved was in uncharted waters when trying to deal with the ongoing pandemic and its effect on the normality and routines of each  offseason. As it’s been said on our airwaves on the Big Red Louie Podcast by many national guests, there simply was no way to deal with the weirdness of the offseason than to just deal with it.

Virtual tools replaced work in classrooms and film work replaced actual work on the field for quite some time. But now, everyone is back on campus going through fall camp and finally, for the first time in a long time we have a bit of normal.

Louisville football’s season was set to kick off just a few days from now on September 2nd against North Carolina State, but obviously the new ACC scheduling format changed things quite a bit. Instead, Louisville will open with their only non-conference opponent on September 12th in Western Kentucky, satisfying the “plus-one” scheduling rule the ACC put into place.

While Louisville will clearly have the overall advantage based off talent alone, Western Kentucky will be no slouch. Let’s take a deeper look into Louisville’s first opponent of the 2020 season.
