Here’s how Louisville football beats Western Kentucky.

For Louisville football, getting in state opponent Western Kentucky on the schedule in a multi-year series for the first time was a big victory years ago. That sentiment has remained true all the way up until now as both teams prepare to battle for the final team with Louisville leading the series 2-0.

Louisville is very fortunate to be 2-0 at this point considering how much work it took to put the Tops away in come back fashion back in 2017, with 2018 being a whole lot easier and way less nerve racking.

This year’s battle will likely follow in the foot tracks of last year’s game, which saw Louisville win comfortably 38-21 in what was a far more competitive game than the score may show. The Cards enter the game as a roughly two  touchdown favorite, to the surprise of no one, but that doesn’t mean that Western Kentucky isn’t prepared to walk into Cardinal Stadium and give it their all.

The Tops are no scrubs, as we’ve talked about for a few weeks now, touting a top 25 defense nationally that returns nearly every single starter and an offense that had an 1,000 yard rusher, and two of the most dynamic pass catchers in all of C-USA. They have all the weapons need to at least make this game competitive and even sneak out with a victory should Louisville not come in prepared.

So what does being prepared look like? We take a look at three things that Louisville has to do in order to take care of business against Western Kentucky and move into the ACC slate 1-0.
